The annual Mini Membership (2012/2013)Subscription is €30.00 , €20.00 per supsequent child - but please take note of

the Family Membership option for the coming season - where all children - up to and including U19's plus their parents/guardians

are included for a fee of €150.00.

Dear Parent,

Welcome to another mini season, and the best of luck to all players, coaches and helpers.

Please find below the 2012/13 mini fixture list; Faraway matches will involve travelling by bus, each age group coach please let me know numbers travelling by Wednesday, so I can order the correct number of buses required. For the ‘near’ away matches, we will travel by car, and we will meet at the clubhouse beforehand, and check out numbers travelling.

Each player will be expected to pay a fare for the bus, [€5] and the club will make-up the shortfall, we always have a ‘shop stop’ on these trips, players should bring a small amount of cash to spend.

For every match day all players should bring the following-

1.         Skibb RFC jersey, white shorts, red & white hooped socks

2.         Full set of dry clothes to change into after the match.

3.         Towel.

4.         Plastic bag for wet/dirty gear.

5.         Gumshield.

6.         Lunch and a drink.

A home ‘blitz or ‘club day’ involves hosting team[s], and after these matches we extend hospitality to the travelling clubs, by providing refreshments. I would like each parent on theses days to bring in sandwiches, buns, etc... and leave them in the clubhouse kitchen, where help is always needed.

For the kitchen rota, we require 4 people for each of the Saturdays’ that we have a home match, so please help out if you can.

Hi all,
Due to the recent bad weather, [and more to come] the 'Brother's' field is in very poor condition, so the Principal has decided to stop the rugby club using it for the rest of the season, it has been a great help to the club to have use of the 'Brother's' field, so we must respect the Principal's decision, we will have use of it next season.
This will put pressure on us to accommodate the mini / youths fixtures and training on the clubhouse pitch and the showgrounds, between the hours of 10am - 11.30am. 
If at all possible, could the youths' 1st kick off time be adjusted to start at 11.30am? 
The mini's are at home for every Saturday except 23.02.13 and 23.03.13 when we are away to Dunmanway and Tralee respectively, see web site [mini section] for fixtures/training.
Hopefully the remainder of the season can run smoothly, but we have to face the problems the weather has caused and the backlog of fixtures, with all age groups affected.

While on the subject of the 'Brother's field, we must look at the long term situation with pitches, as you know a new school is being built in Skibbereen, so the brother's school will not be in use after September 2016, what will happen to the field is unknown.  Should the club be actively pursuing the option to retain the use of the field?

Munster Rugby star Denis Hurley was the star attraction at the end of year Mini party in the Clubhouse on the 28th April last at which medals were presented to all Mini sections by their respective coaches. Denis stayed around for a long spell after the presentation of medals meeting with players and parents and posing for many photographs. Earlier Club President John Field was in attendance to officially welcome Denis to the Club and proudly reminded him of his 'West Cork' roots - and how everyone is delighted at his achievements - and we continue to follow his career with interest. Mini co-ordinator Paul Crosse presented Denis with a Club Tie and Club Polo shirt. The ladies were at their very best as usual n the catering department and saw to it that everyone had plenty to eat and drink - a great day was had by all - enjoy the summer break - hope to see many of you at the Summer Camp in August.
